Is Russell Peters right when he said the whole world is mixing?

He did a stand-up comedy once (which was hilarious) and he mentioned that the globe is mixing and multiculturism and diversity is the biggest thing now. I think it's pretty great that people are getting exposed to different cultures and languages, like for example..how the Spanish language is becoming the new "English" and China's global influence rising. Anyways, do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing?
