I think I have OME. How do I cure this?

Otitis Media with Effusion. i'm a student nurse and i got more interested with Otitis Media when i started to feel the s/s. my right ear feels full, difficulty of hearing, occasionally occurring pain and serous exudate. its been like this for 2 weeks and its killing me! i have to stick my hanky in my ear every minute so the serosa wont drip down my ear for all the people to see. what should i do? i'm definitely gonna see a eent but what measures can i do to reduce this before the check up? please help!
